February Workshop - Feb. 12th

Hey all, 

I have decided to take a hiatus from Portland for various personal reasons, one of which, being that I have allowed dance organization to take up an unhealthy portion of my life.  The monthly workshop will continue to run, however Two Rabbits, LLC will no longer be running them.  I may personally be doing some back-end work, but Brenda will be taking over.  As could be imagined, with different management, the vision will shift slightly.  I know that Brenda still prioritizes affordable, high-quality instruction.

I dreamed up this workshop as a low-cost, "for the people" endeavor, and in many ways, it has succeeded brilliantly.  However, to provide you with amazing low cost instruction, it has meant that Barry and Brenda have agreed to work for a significant discount from their professional rates, and I have had to bust my butt to get the people in the door!  :)  It's been fun, but exhausting at times.  Perhaps, the workshops were not sustainable in this sense. 

My dream has never been to work as a dance organizer, but rather to provide financial backing to ensure affordable dance instruction.  I lost this vision in the past months, even though I had nominal success with Brenda and Steven, Midnight Moves, the varioius small workshops with Barry, and the Monthly Workshop.  I believe you will see more of my organizing efforts in the future, but they may take a different form.  I forsee a 501(c)3 in the future, designed to offer various dance programs to the Portland community on a donation basis.  However, this is still a ways away.

For the time being, I am going to study Tai Chi with a gentleman in Thermopolis, WY.  When the time comes, you will see me again on the Portland dance floors.

I just want you all to know that Barry and Brenda are both extremely committed to continuing to train the Portland community.  If any of you desires to help make this a reality, please speak with Brenda. 

As for auto-pay registrants, I am terminating our agreement as of this email.  I apologize for any inconvenience.  Many of you have gotten a month or two off without bring charged.  Some of you have been to every month, and I'm sorry to end our agreement, but with the format potentially changing, we will not be able to continue as we did.  I hope you understand.
